About Us

We welcome you to North Woodlands Area church of Christ and thank you for taking the time to learn more about us. If this is the first time you will be visiting with us, we want to give you an idea of what to expect upon your arrival.

Arriving and Times

Building imageFirst, you will find plenty of visitor parking in the front and along the South side of our building so please park there and make your way into either the front or side door.

From 9 to 10 am, we offer a variety of Bible Study classes and hope that you will take advantage of the informative and often lively discussion that comes from studying God's inspired Word.

An open fellowship period is offered from 10 to 10:30 with coffee and donuts.

Our assembled worship begins at 10:30.

Our Worship

On average, we have about 150 members and guests in attendance each Sunday. As for dress, we want our guests to be comfortable, but ask that everyone dress discretely. Whether jeans or "Sunday best", we want you to be more focused on worship than what everyone is wearing.

If you require hearing assistance, we are happy to offer special hearing devices that you can wear and that allow you to control the volume. If you think this would be beneficial to you, please check with the attendants in the Audio/Video booth at the back of the auditorium.

Following Biblical guidelines of the New Testament church, we worship our Heavenly Father with:

  • a capella congregational singing: no mechanical instruments are used and we do not have a choir or special singing group - everyone is encouraged to "make a joyful noise".
  • men leading our service: our song service, prayers and readings are conducted by men of the congregation.

In accordance with scripture (Acts 20:7), we partake of the Lord's Supper each first day of the week and this consists of unleavened bread and fruit of the vine - each observed as memorials of the body and blood of Jesus.

In accordance with scripture (1 Corinthians 16:1-2), we collect an offering each Sunday. If you are visiting with us, you are not expected to put money in the collection plate when it is passed around.

The remainder of our worship period includes a lesson or sermon meant to teach God's Word and to encourage and strengthen the faith of those in the audience. For our youngest attendees, we offer a Children's Bible Time where they can join a separate service geared to their age group.

Upon the conclusion of our Sunday worship (usually by 12 Noon) we hope you will stay a little while giving us a chance to meet and talk with you further. When you visit our congregation, you should receive a most friendly, kindly, and courteous welcome...We look forward to meeting you!
